| This specimen was one of several encountered in a coastal hammock on Big Talbot Island, Duval County, Florida while on a marine shell collecting trip to Nassau Sound (8/20/2004). The species was officially designated the state insect on April 26, 1996 at the request of garden clubs from across the state. |
