Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) And Eggs

    During fieldwork on 8/5/2019, this somewhat sub-adult Euglandina was found beneath a dried palm frond along St. Johns Bluff Road near Interstate 295 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. The specimen measured 45 mm. Noting the unusual positioning of the specimen, it was extracted from the substrate and it was discovered to be in the process of depositing an egg clutch (second image below). Digging further into the sandy substrate, more of the clutch was found (third image below). Go to page two for the rest of the story.
