Euglandina rosea (Férussac, 1821) Predation On Polygyra septemvolva Say, 1818 |
This 68.0 mm. specimen was found deceased and partially devoured, apparently the victim of cannibalism, in the roadside swale on the west side of US-1 about 3.2 miles northwest of International Golf Parkway, St. Johns County, Florida on 1/31/2020. The remaining animal was later extracted/dissected and found to have two fresh Polygyra septemvolva in its gut. Also see: Euglandina rosea Rosy Wolfsnail Cannibalism. |
