The top image below shows the normal coloration for Mesomphix globosus found in Duval County and most locations in St. Johns County of northeast Florida. The bottom image shows two specimens from a population in northwestern St. Johns County which have a distinct green coloration. Both color forms are found in very similar habitats but the green colored specimens appear to attain a larger size (in excess of 25 mm.). | |
