Southern Black Widow [Latrodectus mactans] |
| This very large Southern Black Widow spider (about 15 mm. in overall length), along with several others of like size, was found beneath a piece of lumber adjacent to a potato field along Pacetti Road in far western St. Johns County, Florida on 12/3/2009. The site was revisited some three weeks later and the colony was still present. |
