Pomacea canaliculata Egg Clutch

This Pomacea canaliculata egg clutch was photographed on 10/27/2005 in the drainage ditch south of the concrete box culvert. It was one of several which had been deposited by the snails on a floating three foot long piece of green synthetic  pipe insulation. The Pomacea are not too particular as to what type of substrate on which they will deposit their eggs. Unfortunately they are abetted by the local residents who apparently regard any waterway as a convenient trash disposal location or dumping ground.
