These 370 specimens were found in a narrow short dirt strip between the sidewalk and a paved parking lot along West Duval Street near the intersection with North Myrtle Avenue in an industrial section of Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on 2/1/2015. It was initially believed that all were empty shells. However, further examination revealed six live specimens. The industrial sections of the core city of Jacksonville support large populations of this species. |
